I’m Ashlee, a mom, entrepreneur, chemical engineer, and the founder of State of Change. I have spent the last 15 years working in the fragrance industry in just about every aspect – and have seen behind the curtain of this unregulated, unsustainable industry.
Most consumers do not realize that having the word “fragrance” on a label can represent 300+ ingredients that aren’t required to be disclosed or regulated, many of which can cause serious health issues (not just allergies). That is absurd to me!
I expect safe ingredients, full transparency, and responsible practices from the brands that I choose to put on my body. When I realized that did not exist in fine fragrance, I set out to create it myself. And that is how State of Change was born.
Two years later and we are more than just a fine fragrance brand, State of Change is a movement. A community of people who believe that transparency is of utmost importance and that safety of ingredients and sustainability do not need to be compromised to have an immersive, multi-sensory experience.
Our scents are about taking a moment for yourself – a chance to pause and celebrate the moment you’re in. They are meant to be layered, as a form of self-expression to reflect your current state of mind.
